Sprinting is high-skill strength, not conditioning.

True sprint work is a neural and tissue-quality exposure. It belongs before fatigue, with enough rest to make every rep fast, coordinated, and safe enough to repeat next week.

Ankles, hips, T-spine, shoulders, and trunk can move without pinching or compensation.

Use before every sprint block and on restore days.

Prepare The Spring

Foot lock, ankle pulses, low contacts, and quiet landings before any hard acceleration.

Move to faster contacts only when rhythm stays relaxed.
03 J1

Elastic Contacts

Pogos and line hops build stiffness, tendon tolerance, rhythm, and lower-leg timing.

Stop while contacts still sound quiet and reactive.

Hops, Bounds, Landings

Single-leg catches, broad jumps, bounds, and deceleration teach force acceptance and projection.

Advance only when landings are owned, not collapsed.

Build-up into a short max-velocity zone to train speed reserve, upright mechanics, and rhythm.

Tiny dose. Stop at any guarded stride, heavy contact, or speed drop.

Speed Reserve Integration

Pair short speed first with easy aerobic or technical work second so speed raises the ceiling without becoming a metcon.

Never reverse the order when speed is the priority.
Grease the groove

Grease the groove before you chase fatigue.

Use GTG as motor-learning practice: frequent clean inputs for position, timing, breathing, confidence, and tissue tolerance. The point is a better nervous-system signal, not a secret extra workout.

GTG Low fatigue. High frequency. Clean signal.

Keep it on low days, warm-up margins, or short practice windows. A set should make the next set better, not steal from tomorrow.

Stay submaximal

Use roughly 30-60% of a clean max, or a variation that feels like RPE 4-6.

Spread the reps

Run tiny sets across the day, in warm-ups, or between low-stress work blocks with generous rest.

Protect the signal

Stop every set with perfect speed, position, breathing, and 2-4 reps in reserve.

Graduate slowly

Add reps, range, load, or density only after the groove stays clean for a full week.
